Really great job. Can be forgiven for the squark error under that level of pressure as an SP. Kept cool....Most important thing

Empty fuel tanks?
Dean Sartorel
Dean Sartorel 5 hours ago
Yeah, the guy ran out of fuel. Turns out he didnโ€™t dip the tanks before his ppl cross country nav (over 150nm with 2 full stops) and just used the gauges. The mess he got himself into was 100% his fault and I have no respect for him bragging about pulling off a forced landing due to fuel starvation on a CAVOK day. He is lucky he survived but the FAA are not going to go easy on him

Not sure he ever uttered the word โ€œmaydayโ€? And after touch down, I was yelling-pull that yoke all the back to your gut. But in the end he still did 1000 times better than I ever could!

MAD PROPS!~ No pun intended ..lol
caerleon9176 12 hours ago
Had my engine start to fail on my solo, temp was off the scale, smell of hot oil (downwind it was fine). Managed to make the field before It quit. Turned out it had been snagged the day before with the same issue on a ground run - questions were asked why the cleared it again. Thankfully, not everybody has to experience the initial panic you feel, trying to keep it in a glide, looking for options, mine were keep going hit a farm, turn left/right and land on a busy motorway (highway) or hit a pylon that is on final at 800 ft. Nice vid.

It's like God Himself prepared that perfect landing strip for this very occasion. Brother, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and yield to the calling He has ordained upon your life.
Jack Thompson
Jack Thompson 12 hours ago
@FaithnCross itโ€™s pretty obvious. He ran out of fuel. Thatโ€™s pilot error. It didnโ€™t just magically disappear.
Jack Thompson
Jack Thompson 13 hours ago
Hopefully God can help him next time when heโ€™s fuel planning so he doesnโ€™t run out of fuel again. He literally just ran out of fuel. Thatโ€™s it. There is NO excuse for that, student or not, and if my student pulled some crap like this such as shitty fuel management and fuel planning, I would make him re-do everything and not sign off on him to solo for a LONG time, possibly ever again.
Eduardo Gorrochotegui
